It was in 2002 that rider, Mr Huang Zuping, from Beijing contacted Ms Scheinecker for help and advice on equine supplements and general equine care. It was the initial contact with Huang Zuping which led Ms Scheinecker to Beijing where she worked with many different people in the equestrian market – from show jumping, dressage to racing. Ms Scheinecker explains, “I met many people and in the beginning we started with the basics like feeding & worming. It was a special time for me as I met the nicest people who were willing to do all they could to look after their horses.”

Later in 2002, Ms Scheinecker worked with the Chinese Equestrian Association (CEA) and sponsored the Show Jumping and Dressage Teams they would send to the Asian Games in Korea. It was during this time when she had met Show Jumpers Mr Zhang Bin and Mr Li Zhenqiang. In the lead up to the competition, Ms Scheinecker worked closely with the teams and the Secretary General of the Chinese Equestrian Association – Mr Chang Wei. The Chinese Dressage Team won the Team Bronze Medal making everyone extremely proud.

It was on a business trip to Germany in late 2002 that Ms Scheinecker had visited the HOLSTEIN BREEDING ASSOCIATION. It was during this trip and shortly after that she started to visualize ways in which she could try and contribute to the Chinese equine market. Her vision was to see Chinese riders train in Europe.

Ms Scheinecker came up with the idea to work on a co-operation between HOLSTEINER and riders in China.

The outcome in 2003 was that Ms Scheinecker negotiated the contractual details with the Shanghai Sports Ministry to send their show jumping rider, Mr Zhang Bin to Germany to train at the HOLSTEINER VERBAND. This was a fantastic opportunity for Zhang Bin and an important step for Equestrian sports in China.

When Beijing show jumper, Mr Huang Zuping, indicated his intention to train in Europe to pursue his dream of qualifying for the Olympics, Ms Scheinecker once again jumped at the opportunity to help. This led to GARESCH INTERNATIONAL sponsoring Huang Zuping for the past 5 years with products and equipment to keep his horses in top condition while training in Germany with Olympic Gold medalist Mr Ludger Beerbaum.

Ms Scheinecker explained, “Mr Huang Zuping, Mr Li Zhenqiang and Mr Zhang Bin are outstanding examples of what dedication and hard work can achieve. I wish them all the very best. It has been a pleasure for me to be able to play a small part in seeing their dreams come true.”
